What is Azure AI Foundry?

Azure AI Foundry is Microsoft's platform for building enterprise AI solutions. Instead of wiring up a language model as-is and hoping for the best, Foundry provides everything an AI solution needs to work in a real organisation: choosing the right model, grounding it in internal knowledge and data, building agents that take action, measuring answer quality, and a security and permissions layer over all of it. Everything runs inside your own Azure subscription - so your information never leaves it and is never used to train models.

What does the platform include?

Model Catalog Compare and choose models - including small, cheap ones for simple tasks
Azure AI Search Index your organisational knowledge and return the passages relevant to each question
Prompt Flow Build and test the chain of steps behind every answer
Agent Service Agents with tools and permissions - retrieve, calculate and write back to systems
Evaluations Score quality, accuracy and relevance against a representative question set
Content Safety Filter harmful content and block misuse at the infrastructure layer

What do people actually build with it?

  • Natural-language questions on your data - "what were sales last quarter?" instead of a report
  • Document processing - reading invoices and orders and loading them into the operational system
  • An organisational wiki - answers on procedures, contracts and internal knowledge, with a link to the source
  • AI agents that carry out a whole process across systems, not just return text
  • Report summaries - a written explanation of what changed this month and why

When do we choose Azure AI Foundry?

  • The organisation runs on Microsoft 365 and Azure and wants AI that respects existing permissions
  • Regulatory or information-security requirements rule out public AI services
  • The solution must be grounded in your own knowledge and data - not in general knowledge
  • Cost, usage and answer quality need to be controlled over time
  • The goal is moving from a pilot into production with real users

Good AI starts with well-ordered data

An enterprise AI solution is only as good as the data behind it. That is why we connect Foundry to the data warehouse and to the semantic layer that already serves your reports in Power BI - so the agent's answers rest on exactly the same business definitions that appear in the management report, rather than on the model's own interpretation.

What do we offer?

  • Scoping a first use case - what delivers quick value, and what is better postponed
  • Setting up an Azure AI Foundry environment, including permissions and usage policy
  • AI systems development end to end - from the data connection to the user interface
  • AI implementation - training, guidance and measuring real adoption
  • Quality and cost control after go-live - not only during the pilot
